Little Free Libraries Weekend Visit

We did another visit of Jacksonville Little Free Libraries yesterday. We found a few books to read and I always try to fill a library that needs more books. Of course, I try to add one of my books into each one, too.

These are all in the San Marco – South Riverside – Miramar – Mandarin areas of Jacksonville Florida

We even found a couple that weren’t on the LFL map, and one that didn’t seem to be registered or the plate was missing

It’s always fun for a nice drive down streets we might never be on. My wife loves to check out the houses as we go, too. Gets me out of the house for a couple of hours

The lowest LFL number we saw on this trip was #18526 and the highest was #106010

Looking forward to picking another area of Jacksonville next weekend to do the same! I’m even creating a spreadsheet with addresses and numbers I’ve visited. Let’s see how many we can get to!

Little Free Library Trip – Marietta Georgia edition

While I was up in the Atlanta area with my wife (she had business at her properties and I had writing to do in the hotel) we decided to spend a night traveling to a bunch of Little Free Libraries nearby. All but one on our list was up and running, and we grabbed at least one good book from each to read!

Of course, we left quite a few books as well, including several of my signed books (I do like to promote!)

We saw a mother with two young children at one of them, too! Never had to wait in line, and it was fun!

There was even one inside the Great American Cookies location. I filled up their library and we bought a lot of cookies. A lot.

The next time we’re in the area we’ll hit the Smyrna group of Little Free Libraries. In fact, every time we travel from now on I’m going to get a list together to grab some new books and add some books back, too! See you out there!

Armand’s Little Free Library #lfl #littlefreelibrary

Rosamilia Reads.

That’s what we’re calling our Little Free Library, put up in front of our house.

My wife and I have been spending an hour or two each weekend traveling all around Jacksonville (FL) using the handy online map of the Little Free Libraries to check them out, take books and leave books. After the first day of seeking out a dozen of them in one area, I checked to see if there were any in my part of town.

Only one.

Unacceptable to me, as a reader and as a writer. So we ordered a set and with the help of visiting author Alexander Bailey (aka Alex From Iowa) we got it in the ground and filled it with books.

My wife painted the flowers on the sides of it. She wanted it to feel warm and welcoming, fearing I’d paint skulls and bats on it. I wouldn’t do that. I would’ve also added Cthulhu.

Of course, with everything we do, there has to be added features: an inside light in case you’re in the area at two a.m. and can’t sleep and need a book, and two small spotlights for nighttime. In case you’re walking the dog after dark and really want a book for later.

Of course, now my writing will drop each day as I stare out the window, waiting for someone to arrive and go through the books I put inside.

I have a giant feeder box of books (including some of my signed copies as well as signed books from author Chuck Buda) and comic books I’ll be adding as books are taken. I’m hoping this becomes a stop for my side of town for fellow readers!

Now… I need to end this post so I can stare out the window and watch for people…
