SPOTLIGHT ON: Lori R. Lopez
How did you get involved in the Authors Supporting Our Troops event?
I was invited to the event by a friend on Facebook, and it seemed a worthy thing to participate in as an author, so we sent copies of the seven books I currently have out in print for adult readers, along with my son Rafael’s first book, a volume of fantasy verse. We hope they will be enjoyed.
What is your latest release and what genre is it?
My latest is a ghost story titled SPOOKED that blends elements of horror, humor, and the supernatural. Look for other E-books and print books this year, everything from horror stories and novels to poetry and a collection of my art.
Quick description of it.
Two unlucky individuals find themselves trapped in a haunted house, where the spirits are more than restless. They’re very disturbed.
A man learns that his family’s fortune is cursed when his grandfather sends him to an old manor on a pretense. A black cat curiously enters the same house through a window. They will soon meet the resident spooks, generations of ghouls who are as stuck there as them . . . and even more unhappy. The man and the cat are used to feeling unwelcome, but this place is downright hostile! There are more than just termites lurking within these walls, and getting out alive may require some sacrifice.
Something unique about it.
A cat is one of the characters, and another character is a spirit. In some ways it’s a fun haunted-house story. But there are some deeper elements about family and feeling worthy.
