SPOTLIGHT ON: Johnny Worthen

What is your latest release and what genre is it?

Beatrysel. It’s best been described as a literary horror

Quick description of it.

BEATRYSEL is the tale of a demon, created by her Magus lover, rent from him but seeking return. It is the tale of the Magus who made her and lost himself in the act. It is a tale of jilted lovers, betrayals and loss; power and Magick. It explores modern occult theory as practiced today and the manifest power of love made real.

Julian Cormac is a modern practitioner of magick, a descendent of the Golden Dawn and Aleister Crowley. Using techniques learned from ancient grimoires and magickal books of Theurgy, he summons his own demon, his embodiment of love. But he goes to far.

As Julian recovers from his demonic possession he begins to fear that BEATRYSEL is not gone. His dreams are haunted and his friends are dying. His sister, fresh from a terrible divorce comes to help him heal, but she is more damaged than he.

Love has a terrible power all its own, and demons covet flesh.

Something unique about it.

Coming from a lifetime of occult study, I was able to employ current and accurate magickal theory into the book. It allowed at once to make something of a treaties on Magick while at the same time using its methods to explore the darker side of the brightest thing – Love.
