SPOTLIGHT ON: Claire C Riley
What is your latest release and what genre is it?
Odium, and it is a dystopian post-apocalyptic zombie novel.
Quick description of it.
Nina has been living inside a barricaded city since the dead came back to life, but life behind the walls isn’t all cookies and cream. It has become a brutal dictatorship and Nina is tired of living this way. Thinking that life would be better outside of the city, she befriends a young girl and together they leave.
However, neither of them are equipped with the skills to fight the Deaders, so using only common sense and a snarky attitude Nina struggles to get them to a safe place. Along the way, they meet Mikey who introduces them to a life above the ground, but this new life brings more dangers than they thought possible, and Nina finds out that the deaders aren’t the only thing to fear beyond the wall.
Something unique about it.
Well, for one it’s old school zombies…slow…shambling…brain eating types. Secondly, before I started writing Odium I asked for volunteers to fill in a survival questionnaire for me, on the promise that they would in some way be in the story. A lot of the answer/choices/decisions that characters make are based upon these very answers. So when a character decides whether or not to stop and save a fellow survivor…yeah, that was actually someone’s choice. You bad, bad people you!
There’s also a lot of really unique locations in it. Seriously, if you want to survive the apocalypse, you need to read this book.

I can be stalked at any of the following. But be warned, my dog goes bat-shit crazy of anyone comes near the front door, so leave it to virtual stalking only please.
Your short Bio.
Her first novel Limerence is a dark paranormal romance. Claire likes to break boundaries with her writing, incorporating an old school style of horror and romance. Sexy and dark. (Think Bram Stokers Dracula, but for the 21st century!)
Claire’s current novel is a dystopian post-apocalyptic zombie novel called- Odium, and it focuses on survival, and how it would change us.
She has also written a short story, which is a prequel to Odium called Life Ever After. Nina’s story: Part one. It is in an anthology named Fusion, along with some other great indie authors. So if you enjoy Odium, go and pick up Fusion and get to know a little bit more about the main character.
She is currently working on the sequel to Odium, the sequel to Limerence and a romantic horror novel titled Chance Encounters, and a million and one short stories.
Claire is an avid reader of all genres, a book collector, and general procrastinator. She also has a great zombie apocalypse plan in place thanks to a questionnaire she asked her readers to fill in for her.
