What is your latest release and what genre is it?

My latest release is Murder on Second Street: The Jackson Ward Murders. It is historical fiction and mystery/suspense.

Quick description of it.

Easy Rawlins meets “All Quiet on the Western Front” in this novel readers are calling a “master work. “It’s 1929, and WWI veteran and securities specialist Sy Sanford has been hired to find and stop the killer of Negro working class women in the affluent Negro neighborhood of Jackson Ward, but Sy has two big problems: he’s a drunk in the age of Prohibition and the killer has targeted the love of his life.”

Something unique about it.

What’s unique about Murder on Second Street is that it’s a murder mystery set in an actual historic neighborhood in Richmond, VA 30 days before the fall of the infamous stock market crash (October 29, 1929). Also, Sy Sanford, the protagonist, is a World War I veteran. Very few works of historical fiction or even mystery/suspense feature an African American male in early 20th Century America.

Your short Bio.

My name is Rebekah Lynn Pierce, and I am a veteran, author, playwright, motivational speaker and former college English teacher. I have three degrees: an Associates, Bachelors and Masters. I’ve been married for 14 years and have two children: 11 and 3 (don’t ask!); we live in Richmond, VA, but I am originally from California. I love to read mysteries, the classics and other great works of fiction. Writing is a HUGE part of my life; it’s my greatest gift. I am a storyteller across genres, and I feel so blessed to have been chosen to be such. It’s important to me that no matter what I write, it empowers and inspires the reader in some way to be the best they can be and to live their life on purpose.
